This Year’s Theme: Humility

Our retreat leader provides a spiritual focus for the weekend and helps guide us as we explore how the principles of recovery can deepen our relationship with our Higher Power.

This year’s theme, Humility, invites us to look at what it means to live with openness, honesty, willingness, and grace. Through reflection, discussion, fellowship, and quiet time, we will explore how humility can strengthen our recovery and help us remain teachable as we continue to grow.

The spiritual life is not about perfection. It is often cultivated in the messiness, uncertainty, and everyday moments of life. This weekend offers space to slow down, listen, reconnect, and discover what humility may look like in our own recovery journey.

What This Retreat Is

This retreat is a time to renew your commitment to yourself, your Higher Power, and your program. It is an opportunity to step away from daily distractions, deepen your spiritual life, enjoy fellowship with other women in recovery, and simply be present.

What This Retreat Is Not

This is not a weekend of judgment, comparison, or expectations of others. Each woman is invited to create her own retreat experience and to participate in the ways that are meaningful to her.

Meet Our Retreat Leader: Sheree King

Sheree is from Long Island, New York, and has been serving as a retreat leader for more than 17 years.

Her first divine assignment came in 2009 through the Matt Talbot Women’s 47 Group, on a day that also held deep personal significance as the date of her father’s memorial. Since then, she has facilitated Matt Talbot retreats, women’s recovery weekends, day retreats, private groups, and meditation sessions.

With 36 years of sobriety, Sheree continues to live what she describes as her sacred assignment: working with and serving people in recovery.

Throughout the weekend, Sheree will guide us in exploring this year’s theme of Humility and how it can become a living, practical part of our spiritual journey.
